A Backyard Story in a Bottle

We never set out to start a whiskey brand.
It all started with a toy foam rocket.

One day in 2023, a simple retrieval mission into a neighbor’s backyard led to a discovery: three guys with the same wild idea — to make our own whiskey. But distilling without a license? That’s a big no-no. So we got creative.

The Birth of the Barrel

We sourced high-quality, unaged distillate from two award-winning distilleries — one in Pennsylvania and another in New York. Thanks to COVID-era laws, we could legally purchase small batches. We brought them home (in the trunk of a Mazda, naturally), charred two barrels, cured and swelled them, and began aging our first batch in Summit, NJ.

Why
Drum Wood Caskers”

Our name? It’s a nod to the neighborhood — Drum Hill Drive and Tanglewood Drive — where it all started. It also pays homage to the literal casks that brought this dream to life.

What’s Next?

Right now, we aren’t legally selling our whiskey. Everything you see is part of our Bootlegger’s Edition — a passion project, a whiskey experiment, and the start of something bigger.

Try a sip and as we say, “run on down the hill!“
